Den svenska konstnären Siri Berg var verksam i New York och är känd för sin abstrakta konst och sitt intresse och kunskap om färg. Hon avled nyligen vid 98 års ålder.
Siri Berg föddes i Stockholm 1921 och flyttade till New York som 19-åring. Hon arbetade inom modeindustrin och undervisade länge i färglära vid Parsons school of design. Från 1970-talet började hon helt fokusera på konst och hon hade sin första separatutställning 1970.
Hennes konst finns bland annat i de permanenta samlingarna på Moderna museet i Stockholm och på Guggenheim-museet i New York. 2018 presenterades hennes konst i utställningen Ett liv i färg på Bonniers konsthall i Stockholm.
En runa i New York Times beskriver hur hon kombinerade målarfärg och duk med en nästan vetenskaplig inställning till färg, ljus och struktur.
Siri Bergs konstnärskap skildras i filmen In color som gjorts av dokumentärfilmaren Sara Jegeman.

The Swedish artist Siri Berg was active in New York and is known for her abstract art and her interest and knowledge of color. She recently passed away at the age of 98.
Siri Berg was born in Stockholm in 1921 and moved to New York when she was 19 years old. She worked in the fashion industry and taught color theory at Parsons School of Design for over 30 years. In the 1970s she began to focus entirely on art and had her first solo exhibition in 1970.
Her work can be found in the permanent collections at the Museum of Modern Art in Stockholm and at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. In 2018, her work was presented in the exhibition A Life in Color at Bonnier's Art Gallery in Stockholm. The New York Times describes how she combined paint and canvas with an almost scientific approach to color, light and texture.
Siri Berg's art is portrayed in the film “In color” made by the documentary filmmaker Sara Jegeman.
